Launch of New Wideband Receiver “BC160J-WED” for the Japanese Market
Uniden Holdings Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of the BC160J-WED, a new wideband receiver, scheduled for release in November 2025.
The BC160J-WED is a wideband receiver designed specifically for the Japanese market, jointly planned by Wedge Co., Ltd., Sansai Books Co., Ltd., and Uniden Holdings Corporation. Based on a proven North American model, it has been customized to meet the needs of Japanese users.
With a reception range of 25 MHz to 512 MHz (AM/NFM/FM/WFM/FMB), the BC160J-WED offers extensive frequency coverage. It features 1,000 memory channels (100 channels × 10 banks), a Close Call function that instantly captures strong nearby signals, and a numeric keypad for direct frequency input. The high-visibility dot matrix LCD screen with high-brightness backlight ensures excellent readability in various conditions.
Users can register and display channel names of up to 16 characters. In terms of power options, it supports both the included Ni-MH rechargeable batteries and commercially available alkaline batteries. A USB Type-C connector enables charging and PC connectivity, while the free PC control application allows recording, remote operation, and channel editing from a PC. The Service Search function provides one-touch scanning for airband, maritime, and other services.
